‘The Creatures’, by Stevenage based Sarah Kempster, is set in an ordinary lane, where a young girl called Clara who meets Mr Frump, a strange looking creature, who cries upon meeting Clara according to a Welwyn Hatfield Times article by Georgia Barrow
The story sees Mr Frump offer Clara his hand, taking her to see the magical burrow, where he lives; before asking for her help to save the creatures’ food source.
In the article, Kempster said: “[She hopes the story will help] adults to discuss with children how their behaviour impacts the world around them. But also, how adults’ behaviours can also impact children around them”.
Sarah is an English Literature and Film graduate, who has wrote for online magazines, and created her own websites and writings.
Her author biography, from Olympia Publishers.com, said: “[It is] her love for animals, a fairer world and feminism [that] brought to life The Creatures” with an “ambition to always tell a story that will make a difference”.
