The Zombies come to St Albans

By Aiden Perrins – Editor

Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent, well known for their work in The Zombies, are due to perform live at St Albans Cathedral on 21st October to kick off their new tour.

Blunstone and Argent originally hail from St Albans so it is a special homecoming performance for them in the town they grew up in.

An extensive global tour, performances over two consecutive years at Glastonbury, appearances on Jools Holland, The Great Escape Festival and 6 Music firmly placed The Zombies on everyone’s Spotify playlists last year.

In the 60s The Zombies came out with ‘She’s Not There’ and ‘Tell Her No’, to name but a few, which put them on the map of British music. The group broke up in 1968, just before the release of their best performing single ‘Time of the Season’.

Their songs have been around in popular culture ever since, being used in HBO’s True Blood, Coco Chanel adverts and even being covered by Eminem.

In 2000 Blunstone and Argent reformed The Zombies with a new line up and in 2015 they released ‘Still Got That Hunger’, sending them into the Billboard charts for the first time in nearly 50 years.

Trident Media are lucky enough to have secured an interview with the guys, and are able to see them at their show in St Albans; so look out for more to come on this.
