Trident Media Firework Night Social

Starting with a bang!
[Alex Jungeling | Contributing Writer]

November started with the first social for all members of Trident Media, to the firework display at Hatfield house on Saturday 1st. There was a stage with BOB radio providing the entertainment, playing games and getting the crowd involved and moving, as it was a very cold evening.

There was also a bonfire lit later in the evening, which was not as big as expected, but did a good job of warming the surrounding area. The other stalls and entertainment there consisted of mainly family friendly carnival rides and games, such as tea cups, swings and a bouncy slide. There was one adult friendly ride, a simulator for a RAF plane flight, which bounced and jerked around each time a new lot of people hopped in the back.

Around the edge of the park were burger vans, bars and even an ice cream van, clearly ignoring the weather. As the evening went on the park filled up with adults and their children, all wrapped up ready to stare at the sky for the explosion of lights.

Although this was a social in which the whole of Trident was invited, there was only a small group of us amongst these people gaping up at the sky, eating the van bought food, dancing and laughing at BOB radio on the stage, having a very jolly time of it.

I’ve shown a few shots I took of the firework display itself, which was delightfully big and loud as expected, done with a musical backing track, with people oohing and aahing in all the right places. I feel this was a great success overall, for both Hatfield House, the charity it was done for, Parkinson’s UK, and us, Trident Media, starting the year off with a bang.
