Three University of Hertfordshire graduates have launched Scrittura Magazine, an online literary magazine. Catherine Roe, Yasmin Rahman and Valentina Terrinoni, who all graduated from the School of Humanities in the past three years, hope to showcase outstanding creative work.

The first digital issue of Scrittura Magazine will be released in September and will include creative writing such as poetry, prose and script.

Meet the Scrittura Magazine team

Valentina Terrinoni was previously Editor-in-Chief of UniVerse (our student newspaper) and is currently studying MA Creative Writing here at Herts with Yasmin Rahman. Alongside their editorial work, Rahman also has a passion for designing posters about her favourite novels, including a commissioned piece by author John Green. Catherine Roe currently works at asset.tv, and has taken on the role of Web Developer for Scrittura Magazine.

“This is something we’ve wanted to do for quite a long time,” said Terrinoni. “We share a passion for Creative Writing and wanted the chance to enhance our own skills, provide a platform for writers and ultimately experience great writing ourselves. It is a very tough market for writers and we are committed to showcasing excellent work.”

Scrittura Magazine will be published quarterly, and is currently accepting submissions of prose, poetry and scripts which are previously unpublished. The next submission deadline is the 30th July.
