Review: Boomtown Fair.

By Danielle Smith.

Boomtown fair……..the immersive city is full of secret disco’s, mini towns, fancy dress, and huge acts. This festival is its own world inside our world.

From the moment of coming through the festival gates, you step into a world like no other. With characters that help keep the boomtown fair story alive, to festival revellers who are looking to have an amazing weekend, you won’t know what hit you. Each year (or as they call it, ‘chapter’) is a chance to involve yourself within a new story for Boomtown fair. As chapter 10 ended with the amazing set from DJ Andy C, it was shortly followed by the closing ceremony with more creative music and an important message; ‘Our World, Our Environment, Our Future’.

As well as being able to have the most amazing weekend you could possibly think of, the creators of Boomtown Fair always make sure to let the partygoers know how much the environment, and the little world that they have created, means to them. Each year the festival takes it up a notch by improving the standards that they set in the previous year. Each district at the festival has its own image, which holds different genres of music. There is Diss-order Alley for the heavy metal, punk, and rock fans, there are Psychedelic Gatherings for all those acid-tech fans, Lions Den for the chilled-out Reggae and ska fans, and of course Bang-Hi towers for all those who love drum and bass, house and bass music. With a range of music set to play 7th-11thAugust 2019 Hampshire, Boomtown Fair is one festival that incorporates everyone and has a feeling of community.

So far for 2019, the festival HQ have released line-ups for 5 districts; Metropolis, Whistlers Green, Diss-order Alley, Psychedelic Gatherings, Hidden Woods and Tangled Roots. Although not all the areas have been released, there has been a huge hype over who has been said to play at this year’s festival. Acts such as The Streets, Chase & Status, Ms Lauryn Hill, Prophets of Rage and Groove Armada are just some of the HUGEEEEEE headliners set to take centre stage this year.

With many more acts to be announced over the coming weeks, who would you be most excited to see?
