It’s that time of the year where the Forum opens its doors for a mighty day of pop-punk, rock and metalcore. Here are five bands that may not be on your schedule… but really should.
Energy fuelled and charismatic, these Scottish sparklers will hit the Rock Sound Breakout Stage at around 3:20pm! Their tune Animal attracted the attention of Radio 1 and demands some dance moves
- Bowling For Soup
What goes better than bread and butter? Comedy and rock. This band has been in the game for over 20 years so rest assured: they know their stuff. Get over to the Fireball Stage at 9:45pm for some classics like ‘1985’ and ‘Girl All The Bad Guys Want’. Oh yeah – did I mention they slayed a giant inflatable sheep at Download Festival a few years ago? Yeah. Get ready for the laughs.3.Decade
One of the most promising British rock bands of the year, Decade return eschewing their epic pop-punk hits for more summery Brit-Rock. They are brilliant nonetheless and pour energy and cool into their set. Come and see them for their soaring melodies at 2.30pm at The Key Club Stage. Pleasantries is a brilliant sophomore album by the way.
A phenomenal band return to the UK after a four-year break. The reunited four piece celebrate a 10 year anniversary of the album that shoved them into the limelight of the alt scene From Them, Through Us, To You. Madina Lake have been on quite the journey, and are undoubtedly spectacular live: provoking the only Caterpillar dance move I have seen performed at the centre of a wall of death. Catch them at 8:40pm on The Impericon Stage.5. Don Broco
Speaking of Wall of Deaths – Don Broco know quite a bit about those! This band has always caused some controversy in the rock scene with their charming appearance. Don’t be fooled. These guys know how to mosh and are musically TIGHT, near album-sounding perfection. If you like things heavy with a solid mix of funk – this is the band to watch. See the marvellously underrated Broco boys on The Jagermeister stage at 8:00pm.
See you in the pit!
