Christmas music never gets old, every year the same songs are played, and some artists will bring out a new song or cover. We have produced a guide to Christmas music for you, including the best of different types.

Best Christmas advert music:

The best music from a Christmas advert is undoubtedly ‘Through Frozen Forests’ by Aaron Espe. Whilst not strictly a Christmas song, it’s a very warming winter song that never fails to impress.

Best modern Christmas song:

One of my favourite modern Christmas songs is ‘Santa Tell Me’ by Ariana Grande. This upbeat pop song is sure to be a hit with everybody.

Best alternative Christmas song:

‘A Spaceman Came Traveling’ by Chris De Burgh is an alternative to the typical Christmas song with a much calmer tone. This song will please anybody looking for something slightly softer than most Christmas songs.

Best silly Christmas song:

‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ by The Spinners takes a classic Christmas song, and adds a multitude of silly outcries between verses such as a comment about the seven swans swimming breaststroke.

Other great Christmas songs:

‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ – Band Aid 30

‘Step Into Christmas’ – Elton John

‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ – Mariah Carey

‘Not Tonight Santa’ – Girls Aloud

‘Warm This Winter’ – Gabriella Cilmi

‘What Christmas Means To Me’ – Stevie Wonder

‘Driving Home For Christmas’ – Chris Rea

‘Frosty The Snowman’ – The Jackson 5

‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ – Michael Bublé

‘Shake up Christmas’ – Train
